Howard Sands, violin maker, lives and works in Eagle Point, Oregon. Over his 30 year career, he’s made more than 150 string instruments. He uses old-world techniques learned from his mentor, Victor Gardener, and handcrafts violins, cellos and violas. All of his instruments are made from wood aged a minimum of ten years, and some woods are up to 25 years old.
He accepts requests for custom violin family instruments, and has experience creating half or 3/4 size instruments.
